CHICAGO — We are pleased to present our first annual Midwest Open, an exhibition which serves to highlight female artists who reside in the Midwest. Forty-eight artists from Midwestern States will be represented through a variety of subject matters, styles and techniques: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Awards will be announced during the opening reception.
Juried by WMG’s Executive Director, Deb Flagel, the exhibition includes paintings, sculptures, photography, mixed media, fiber, printmaking, and installation.

Juror: Deb Flagel served as Woman Made Gallery’s Executive Director from 2017 to 2019. She received an MFA in Visual Communication from The School of the Art Institute, Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education/Sculpture from Indiana University, Bloomington. Flagel has exhibited throughout the United States, has had studio practices in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin and considers her art and sense of self to be closely linked to her Midwestern roots.
